"The State Board of Health shall have general control over the enforcement of laws relating to public health." (Ala. Code 22-1-702 [1907]). These records consist of brief correspondence by telegram. Types of information included in these records are notices of shipments of supplies, notification of expected arrival dates for visitors, requests to meet for lunch or dinner, and other general inquiries for information. These records also contain some information on disease epidemics and federal funding for state health programs.
